So good to have Queens of the Stone Age back. Arguably, the best rock band on the planet is delivering a new album early next month, called Like Clockwork.

The band has released a series of bloody animated videos for songs from the album, here’s the latest one – My God is the Sun, which is actually the first single as well. All hail the kings of rock and the Queens of the Stone Age..

The priest who fell to earth

David Bowie could have taken the safe route. Release a new album, do a couple of interviews, shoot a few mild videos, and be back home in time for his afternoon tea. But no – even in his 60’s, Bowie likes a bit of a good old controversy. In the video for the title track of his last album, The Next Day, he summons the actors Gary Oldman and Academy winner, Marion Cotillard.

In the video, which has been removed from Youtube, and then brought back, Bowie acts as a sort of Christ and Oldman is christian priest who condemns him. There’s also quite a bit of blood in the chapel. Take a look, and then head over to iMesh to download the entire album.

The smell of Summer is already starting to spread, and Brad Paisely is taking a stab at scoring the ultimate summer hit with his new single – Beat this Summer, a nostalgic piece of laid back rock featuring a couple of cute kids on the newly released video.

Keep on keeping on

It’s been quite a ride for Bon Jovi since the glam metal days of the 80’s, with theĀ  very tight pants and the extremely permed hair. But somehow, Jon and the boys managed to stay popular, and their brand new album is no exception. Riding high on top of the Billboard charts, What About Now is another typical Bon Jovi album, full of rock anthems and stadium bangers.

Check out the leading single, Because We Can. Is it a nod towards a famous campaign slogan of a recently re-elected president? We wonder…

Delta Force

Synthpop legends, Depeche Mode, are back with their 13th album, Delta Machine. The pioneers of electronic music, who grew to become one of the biggest bands on the planet, are still in good form, more than 30 years down the road.

Heaven is the leading single from the new album, and it finds Gore, Fletcher and Gahan in a classic Depeche Mode ballad mode. Check it out here!

Nelly Furtado is grabbing a bucket for the latest single to be lifted from her fifth album. The Bucket List is one of those “grab the moment”, “live life to its fullest” kinda songs, always a great topic for a pop song.

And while you’re grabbing the moment, grab the album on iMesh like, right now, if you hadn’t already.

The man who fell to earth, again

So, we’ve been away for a while. And so was David Bowie. In fact, he was away for ten years. That’s right, ten years. A very very long time by any standard. But despite speculations that he decided to end his music career forever, Bowie surprised the entire world with a new song on his birthday, and a full album that comes out next week.

The Stars (Are Out Tonight) is the second song to be lifted from the album, and it comes with a beautiful video, that features the amazing actress Tilda Swinton. Check it out, and grab the entire David Bowie album on iMesh

Not quite sure why Coldplay are name checking the famous cartoon character as the title of their latest single, but classic comics aside, Charlie Brown is vintage Coldplay – soaring melody over lush guitars and Chris Martin’s tortured angel-like voice. Check out the video, and head over to iMesh, to download the entire album, Mylo Xyloto.

We feel fine

The beginning of the year is traditionally slow in terms of new releases and new music. This gives us time to have a look at the back catalogue and remember great music from the past. Since some short- sighted people expect the world to end at 2012, we thought this would be a good opportunity to use this classic cut from R.E.M and tell them – no problem, bring it on!

By the way, last year, R.E.M declared that they were calling it a day, so it’s always a good thing to get yourself acquainted with one of the best bands ever in the history of music… download their back catalogue on iMesh
