Living on the Edge

Lady Gaga has released another youtube scorcher, the video for The Edge of Glory. Compared to her previous videos, this one is perhaps a little more restrained and a little less jaw dropping, but it is still a hundred percent Gaga…

Speaking of which, the old master of video spoofs, “Weird” Al Yankovic, has just uploaded his take on the Gaga phenomenon, he calls it Perform This Way.

Watch it here:

So who’s the first Lady of country then?

Another new twist in Lady Gaga’s career – her latest single was just released officially as a country song. Well, at least what Lady Gaga calls country. More details, in her press release:

SANTA MONICA, CA – April 4th, 2011 – The country version of Lady Gaga’s smash hit “Born This Way” has become such a viral sensation since being released through her Twitter page that she has decided to officially issue the track for sale on April 5th with a portion of the proceeds to benefit charity.  The “Born This Way – Country Road Version”, produced by Lady Gaga and Fernando Garibay, was recently recorded while on tour and features new Lady Gaga vocals and added guitar and harmonica.  First released March 24th as a gift to her fans (she has become the first person on Twitter with 9,000,000 followers), overwhelming praise for the recording–marked by over 1,000,000 YouTube views in it’s first few days of release–has prompted Lady Gaga to release the track officially, with Lady Gaga, her record label, and her publisher donating a portion of the proceeds from sales

Grammy Winners

A couple of weeks ago the music industry celebrated another year in business, and handed out a bunch of prizes to some of the most notable artists of 2010. As usual, there were unexpected winners and surprising moments, and this year, the biggest surprise is arguably indie-pop band, The Arcade Fire, winning album of the year with The Suburbs.

Eminem and Lady Gaga not won nearly as many Grammies as they hoped for, but didn’t go home empty handed either. Besides Arcade Fire, the other big winners of the night are no doubt country posters Lady Antebellum and jazz musician Esperanza Spalding, who overcame Justin Bieber and Drake as Best New Artist.

You can see the full list of winners at the official Grammies site, and download all the music, right here on iMesh
