Heaven is the leading single from the new album, and it finds Gore, Fletcher and Gahan in a classic Depeche Mode ballad mode. Check it out here!

We feel fine

The beginning of the year is traditionally slow in terms of new releases and new music. This gives us time to have a look at the back catalogue and remember great music from the past. Since some short- sighted people expect the world to end at 2012, we thought this would be a good opportunity to use this classic cut from R.E.M and tell them – no problem, bring it on!

By the way, last year, R.E.M declared that they were calling it a day, so it’s always a good thing to get yourself acquainted with one of the best bands ever in the history of music… download their back catalogue on iMesh

It was David Bowie’s 65th birthday a couple of days ago, and we are thrilled to mark this event on our blog.  Bowie is truly one of the most amazing musicians and singers to grace this planet, his list of timeless songs and albums are almost unmatched.  Here’s one of his signature songs from the height of his commercial success, back in 1983, Let’s Dance, produced by Nile Rodgers from Chic.

Happy Birthday David, here’s for many more to come, we will always cherish your music!

After over 30 years, one of the most important bands of our generation have called it a day.  They started as a post punk band in Athens, Georgia, at the early 80’s of the last century, and slowly but surely became nothing less than an institution.  Their most successful albums were released at the beginning of the 90’s, but this track from 1987- The One I Love- is their first major breakthrough hit, and  beautiful song that still sounds mesmerising today.

Check out their entire back catalog on iMesh, or simply focus on the R.E.M Best Of playlist we made for you.

Living on the Edge

Lady Gaga has released another youtube scorcher, the video for The Edge of Glory. Compared to her previous videos, this one is perhaps a little more restrained and a little less jaw dropping, but it is still a hundred percent Gaga…

Speaking of which, the old master of video spoofs, “Weird” Al Yankovic, has just uploaded his take on the Gaga phenomenon, he calls it Perform This Way.

Baby Bash <3 Hall & Oates

We’ve got a new playlist on iMesh, of tracks selected by American-Mexican rapper, Baby Bash. It’s cool to see someone with such a wide taste in music, not remaining in his comfort zone. And we are even happier he chose this classic tune by 80’s blue eyed soul maestros, Hall & Oates, “I Can’t Go For That”.
