If you missed the Grammy Awards show, we will catch you up on the big moments of the night.

The show started out with a performance from Beyonce along with her husband, Jay Z. It was the first of many memorable performances in a large variety of genres.

Another great moment was when Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the surviving members of the Beatles performed.

Daft Punk took home five awards and the duo was as always dressed as robots.  In addition to being the biggest winners of the night they also performed alongside Stevie Wonder.

Kendrick Lamar performed with Imagine Dragons mashing their songs “m.A.A.d city” and “Radioactive”. Metallica performed “One” with Lang Lang. Carole King and Sara Bareilles preformed “Beautiful” and “Brave”.

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the performance by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis of “Same Love”, which featured Madonna, along with Queen Latifah officiating a marriage ceremony for 34 couples of all different sexualities, races and ages. The performance left much of the audience teary eyed.

Dave Grohl is turning 45 today. This dedicated rocker has definitely earned a celebration.

The Foo Fighters front-man has had an pretty amazing career until now, showing off his skills as a drummer, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.

It doesn’t look like Grohl is slowing down anytime soon; The Foo Fighters are scheduled to released their 8th studio album this year.

Dave started his rock career early in life, so early in fact that he had to lie about his age to get into the band Scream, he was only 18 but claimed to be 20.

You will have to watch this live performance closely not to miss the few shots of the young drummer.

After Scream, Dave joined Nirvana, again as the drummer, and went on to make music history with the grunge band.

Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley, will always be the original “King of Rock and Roll”. He revolutionized music and musical performances. Before we had Miley twerking on stage nightly, Elvis danced in a way that had fans screaming for more and critics crying indecency. He played music unlike any other and is the best selling solo artist of all time. I could list all the ways Elvis changed music and explain why he deserves the crown, but I think I will let him explain for himself.

Beyoncé Can Keep A Secret

Aside from being one of the biggest names in pop music, the wife of Jay Z and mother to Blue Ivy;  Beyoncé has something else going for her, Queen Bey can keep a secret. Midnight on Friday a surprising release from Mrs. Carter appeared online.

With no warning, not a single piece of promotion and absolutely no leaks, Beyoncé released what she has referred to as a “visual album”. Not only did she release 14 new songs, but each song has a unique video.

With multiple collaborators and all that goes along with recording the songs and making the videos, not a single person let it slip about the release. The album features artists like Drake, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, as well as Bey’s family; Jay Z and Blue Ivy.

The album is terrific and nothing less than to be expected from the super star. While the industry becomes more and more focused on singles, releasing her entire album without promotion was an interesting move, but if anyone in the world can pull off the move it would have to be Beyoncé.

Beyoncé released a video explaining her choice to release the “visual album”. You can hear what she had to  say about it, including her inspiration from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, in the video below.

If you are worried about the success of the self titled album, fear not; word spread like wildfire after its release and it is already topping the charts for downloaded music.

Taylor Swift turns 24 today. Happy birthday Taylor! We know she had a busy year last year.

10 years ago Taylor picked up and moved to Nashville to try and make it as a professional singer and songwriter. I don’t need to tell you how that story went. Taylor has obviously realized her dream of being a professional musician, and a pretty successful one at that.

Taylor has had a busy year with her world tour for Red, her most recent chart topping album. She is still touring and is in Australia now.

Taylor has had some pretty big performances this year. She performed at The Grammys, The Country Music Awards and most recently at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Check out Taylor enjoying the show, dancing around as she belts out her hit song “I Knew You Were Trouble”.

Taylor has plenty to look forward to in the coming year as well. Last week the Grammy nominations were announced and Taylor has been nominated for quite a few of them, including the coveted Album of The Year. She is also set to appear in the film The Giver in 2014. Good luck in the coming year Taylor!

The Worst Holiday Albums Ever

Posted by Nadine Segal • December 05, 2013 at 12:10 PM

Santa DJ

Many artists have made holiday albums. Some release versions of classic holiday songs that people enjoy every year. Others create original holidays themed songs that you can add to your Christmas playlist, to be enjoyed over the holidays. This article is not about any of those. These albums will probably not bring you a huge amount of horrible cheer. Here are the worst of the worst. The most awful holidays albums ever created.

We will begin with the a man who was known for being awful. William Hung was famously rejected fromAmerican Idol, if you close your eyes you can probably hear him belting out “La Vida Loca”. Hung decided to make the most of his time in the spotlight with his Christmas album Hung For The Holidays. The album is as bad as you may imagine.  Listen at your own risk.

My favorite thing about David Hassselhoff is his ability to laugh at himself. He really seems to have a great sense of humor. My least favorite thing about Hasselhoff just might be his album The Night Before Christmas Read more …
